Veg Foodtrip in the South

Having balikbayan relatives in town is always the perfect excuse to live like a tourist myself. Although not everyone in our family is vegetarian, all appreciate clean, healthy, and well-prepared food. Last weekend, we braved the rains and went on a family trip to Tagaytay and Batangas, stopping by some of my favorite food spots.
First stop was brunch at Sonya's Garden. We called in advance so when we got there, our food was ready.
Mangoes with flowers and a cup of hot chocolate!

After brunch, we drove to Batangas and checked into The Farm at San Benito for the night.Place was so chill, PJ just went ahead and napped on a bench.
Gigantic leaves
The pool at the spa

And of course, glorious vegan food at Alive Restaurant!Flaxseed and coconut crackers, walnut pate, chia seed caviar, red beet ravioli, sruffed bell pepper hummus, fresh fruit, granola with nutmilk, tofu scramble, raw cookies, mango pudding, and a raw turtle pie. I want to kidnap their chef so she can make food for me every day :P

Verbena is Discovery Country Suites is also one of our favorite places to eat in Tagaytay.Freshly baked bread served with tomato salsa, butter and hummus.
Portobello and arugula salad
Roasted garlic potato soup
